A place in the sun

I live on the seventh floor facing west. This means that, whenever the sun shines during these gloomy winter months (if at all), I profit from it. It also means that when I head outside, convinced I'll have a lovely sunshiney walk, I'm likely to be disappointed. The sun hardly reaches street level these winter months.

Today, on another weird but glorious sunny day, the twins and I set out to find a few rays to sit in. We ended up on the pavement chairs at Melbourne Canteen. With a fleece to cover cold legs, a warm hot chocolate on the table and guaranteed sunshine to sit in, this is THE place to come when winter is playing hide and seek. It sort of makes sense that it is run by Ozzies...

Melbourne Canteen, Pannierstraße 47, 12047 Berlin, website, open Monday to Sunday from 9am.
